The Authoritarian Is the Strong Man, the Strong Woman

Gerrymandering in the United States is not really buying into democracy. It's just right now, the forces are aligned in a way that democracy is good for me. I like democracy, which is exactly what I fear the most about authoritarianism. This last election felt so important. If you squint, you can see lots of reasons for optimism.
