In your book, abraham silence, you talk about the problem of evil. You touch on why you find the greater good arguments and the free will defence arguments inadequate for talking about this issue. Why do you think they are not helpful in a pastoral way? It can cut the nerve of petitionary prayer. I'm just showing that this argument is intention with the prayer of lament. The prayer of lament says, i take so seriously my perception of evil in the world. This is truth. There is really something wrong with the world. So if i see some one suffering, should i work to help them, or should i say, will it serve some greater good? So let em suffer
