The Importance of Hydration in Training

Most common mistakes are, I think, pre-hydrating too aggressively before competition and training. Another one is probably either having no plan for hydration at all or having to rigid a plan. Have an idea of how much you're going to need, but then let your body guide you quite a lot on the day. A good example of that would be having water and an electrolyte drink.
