Sports medicine professor looked at ten recreational athletes. He asked them to do all of their physical exercise by breathing in and out through the nose for a period of six months. The improvements were as follows: with nasal breathing, individuals were able to achieve 100% of their work rate intensity. Number two, they had 22 % less ventilation.
