The Importance of Observing History

I feel as though I probably misunderstand a lot of Vietnam because I have based my understanding of the war on these very subjective point of view films that have become iconic over the years. The one thing I learned is that we got some really great stories about Vietnam, but we got them from a very, very limited perspective. And I don't know if these movies will necessarily help anyone really understand all the complexities of Vietnam and what happened. But I do think by watching them, you get a really good sense of like, what you learned about it in school and what you didn't learn,. That's the great thing about history. It's like, oh, I can keep going and learning more
