Is the Authority of the Catholic Church in the Church?
Many catholics believe that it was the authority of the church that invested the scriptures with their authority. This is a incorrect way oftaningt incra is certainly not what the catholic church teaches. God didn't decide, nor did you decide, that the gospel according t matthew belongs in scripture. That's something god decided. But he didn't reveal it to me or you, or anyone else individually. He revealed it in and through the church. The problem of tradition and the problem of solo scripture could be greatly reduced if we could understand them for what they really are.
