Do You Know How Many Dollars Are Out There?
Bob Greene: The U.S. has 13 trillion dollars overseas, but there's an even bigger number that's in the 40 low 40 40 trillion amount. He says a fifth are dollars outside the United States claims on other non US residents. Greene: That's like 40 plus trillion as against the rest of the world GDP of around 100 trillion. So something very large in relation to the overall portfolio, which might be 300% of GDP, he says.
