The Bialluminescent Burglar Alarm
One of the ways that animals use by aluminescence for defence is something called a bi aluminescent burglar alarm. If you are cat caught in the clutches of a p predator and have no apparent hope for escape, one thing you can do is attract a lot of attention to you. And this is actually a pretty common trick. This is the same reason that birds and monkeys have fear screams. Yes, it's a offense, not i no, it is not Reason f ho. But they will use every light organ they've got to try to attract attention if they're caught.
