Is Music a Thing?
Music allows the symbolic image to emerge in its highest significance from these facts, intelligible in themselves. And where shall we seek for this expression, if not in tragedy and in general, in the conception of the tragic? Oh, that is a mouthful. When you call prose purple, what that means is that it just goes really over the top. It's impossible for me to just kind of take my inner experience and inject it into you. What i do is i kind of pour it out into the world in the form of some story or painting or narrative rite. The point is that there are inherent truths about being a human being which can only be captured in art.
