The Importance of Retrospective Validation

The prophet Isaiah is aware that sooner or later, something has got to happen through which this will mean what it already means. The return from exile functions as the sign that God has forgiven Israel's sins. And I don't think we need to worry too much about God's timescale. But it's as though God knows from the beginning that this is going to happen and then forgiveness can be announced in advance.
