How to Limit WIP for Creative Knowledge Workers
The idea is that every day we want to focus on, if you don't have this chart, you just focus on the item age regardless of what chart you use. The more stable and unpredictable your system is, the more lowering your WIP will correlate with a lower cycle time. But there's, there's also a potential trap. There's pros and cons to all this approach and it comes back to what you're trying to improve - whether it's a subsystem like a team sprint or a larger system.
