Xanthippus was elected as eponymous Archon for 489-488 BC. His demand for the death penalty suggests bitter opposition to Miltiades, and very possibly, policy of outright resistance to Persia. Xanthippus' marriage provides more evidence of a possible political alliance with the Alkneonodai agoristi.
