In 19 59, four years after einstein's death, his paper was published in philosophy of science. He gained some recognition for this rejection of general relativity. Still, the scientific community ignored hartley's mechanistic model. By the late 19 fifties, the rel istic theory was dominant. Hartley was never a healthy man, and was prone to what he referred to in his letters as nerve exhaustion that caused him to be laid up for months at a time. The scheme you suggest has possibilities, i wish i had time to look into it alas there are so many things to do in a limited day.
