The Importance of an Independent IDL in Serialization

Serialization of data is still such a hard problem in 2021. There are 8,000 libraries because there's so many subtly different ways to do things and not every way is right. Having an independent IDL gives us some benefits that we don't get if we're kind of doing this serialization on a language specific.
