Wage theft tends to target people with the least ability to fight back, like hourly workers and undocumented immigrants. Government agencies who are supposed to be the watchdogs against wage theft are understaffed and underfunded. But just because it's all too easy for companies to steal from their workers, that doesn't mean workers are powerless. One construction worker was so angry at allegedly not being paid that he took drastic action by driving a mini excavator into his newly finished hotel.
