Is the Time Course of the Disease Linked to Hyper Acute, Alter Mental Status?
The time course of the disease process is not necessarily linked intimately to the time course of symptom report. The approach to hyper acute, alter mental statuses would actually be much more skewed towards problems in the brain itself. Just because a pen rolled off the table doesn't mean that it hasn't been rolling on the table for a long time until it falls off. And I think that's what we're dealing with here.
