When I was at Brown, I started in 1972, so it was the early 70s. I had one of the biggest afros you've ever seen. But I thought of myself as very liberal leaning. I majored in Chinese Communist ideology. On the other hand, I was in the political science department and I knew I was going to law school. So I couldn't be but so militant.
