There are actually a number of things that affect efferocytosis. Smoking, for just one example, impairs it. And so unsurprisingly, smoking leads to a sort of prolonged recovery after a bacterial pneumonia. But beyond that, there's also some data that glucocorticoids and if you can believe it statins, even ogment efferscytosis.
