How to Use Volume as a Control Signal
The ear is sensitive to the nature of a fade. So these things all play into the magic of using volume as a control signal, as it were. The source material that you use for this kind of fadeathon is obviously rather important. But I quite like the way that using different kind of ambiences and fading in that wayKind of creates this sonic painting, which can be useful if you're making sonic paintings. It's a simple thing, but again, this whole exercise in today's nitty gritty is about something really simple. It's about just cross fading essentially, but cross fading into cross fading intocross fading into cross fades and so on.
