The main thing that bars me there is the promise of a great simulation being so easy and instant. It's like Blade Runner 2049 the scene where he has the girl hanging from the ceiling and the hologram and then he gets a fancy device but she's still a hologram. That is because a simulation is just that. A simulation of love, a simulation of empathy isn't love and empathy. It is a simulation. And so this whole discussion of AI and virtuality and everything is really about the synthetic world that we could create with this.
