The Problem With Alvin Bragg's Indictment
Nothing in the indictment or in the statement of facts says tax fraud. The phrase used is mischaracterized for tax purposes. It looks like Trump and Cohen purposely overpaid their taxes to the federal government and the state of New York because it was a campaign finance scheme, not a tax scheme. There are many state and federal statutory problems about all of the things that we've been speculating about. But let me just pause and say the reason why everyone is still speculating now and who knows how long people will be speculating. That's a problem for the fairness of this prosecution.
