In every transaction there's a very interesting thing that's happening. There's always a great disparity between price and value. If you buy something, you must value it more than the price. And if you sell something,you must value it less than the price in some cases. But doesn't this dislocation of price and value lead to some very odd things that we value? So, Van Gogh and Vermeer died penniless, yet they produced works of inestimable value - but didn't give them anything in price terms.
