CHAPTER

Rejection of Ritual Worship

We can't answer the why or the who. All we know is the what, and so we do it. But if we have lost sight of the wy and the who, then it's time for a wake up call. Isaias given him one. So here's h's this for rejection of ritual worship. No more vain oblations. Your incense is an abomination. The new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, i cannot away with. I mean, he can't even finish the sentence.

Those were just means anyway, and the ends isn't taking place. And so to what purpose? He goes on in verse 12, the second half of his question, when ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand to tread my courts? So you're coming to the temple, which is what where they would go to offer these sacrifices. So this is another worship verse, but it's a different question. The first time it was, to what purpose? Why? This time it's, who hath required this? Who's making you do this? Who's asking? And of course, the answer is whell. God is okat. I know that, do you? That's what blows me away about the kind of worship that god rejects, is we can't answer the why or the who. All we know is the what. And so we do it. We probably know the when also, since it's just wrote and ritualistic in a bad way. And and so we just do it every sunday, or we do it when we're when we're expected. But if we have lost sight of the wy and the who, then it's time for a wake up call. And isaias given him one. So here's h's this for rejection of ritual worship. Verse 13 to 15, bring no more vain. Oblations. And vain, you can take in either meaning of the word. Ah. Is this to no purposeis that to what purpose? Is what i'm asking? So that is totally in vain. Doesn't do anything for me. Or the other side of vain, is this just so that you are seen of man. That's what jesus got after them for you disfigure in your face. When you fast, are you praying on the street corner to be seen of men? Oh no, no more vain oblations. Keep going. Incense, that's an abomination, unto me, incense. That's supposed to be the sweet smell ascending to heaven. That's the prayers of the saints. When your prayers look like spit wads stuck to the top of your ceiling, cause that's as high as they got, and no higher then, yet, those ones didn't reach the divine ear. Your incense is an abomination. The new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, i cannot away with. I mean, he can't even finish the sentence.
