"The Conquest of Bread" by Peter Kropotkin
Red Menace
The French Revolutionary Strike
Cropotkin argues for the central importance of food security in a socialist revolution. He shows how in the French Revolution, this was not prioritized and chaos and ultimately defeat followed. The solution is revolutionary expropriation of society's housing stock to allow every human being to be housed regardless of income or wealth. Cropotkin also concedes that socialist revolutions in Europe, when they inevitably happen, will take different forms.
