Are the Divine Persons Simple and Complex?
Being simple requires having a nature that has no parts. And similarly, being complex requires having anature that has some parts. So christ is both simple and complex. The initial apparent contradiction can be resolved by reconceiving the ontological satisfaction conditions for the relavive predicates. It seems to me that divine simplicity and the trinity, understood in this way, are compatible with each other.
