The Luggage Explains the Blood

I always kind of figured that he fell on Harry's wand like one would fall on their sword and it just like for the longest time I thought it just goes, I always think he's going to go straight up into his brain. It gets you winked. Again, they could just tell the truth right now. All would be understandable, but instead they must lie. This was such a leap. Now also what explains the blood? The limp?
