On February 25, the NYPD did an about-face and announced that he now believed Dorothy to be dead. Why? No body. That's right. The evidence that led them to announce that she was definitely still alive was the same exact evidence that lead them to say she was definitely dead. So basically exactly what her family had been saying from the beginning,. when they finally went to the police for help.
