Dennis Potter's reputation with the singing detective went sky high, both in the UK and actually in America as well. Some of his later work was really slated for misogyny and self-indulgence. The legacy was kind of Dennis Potter, the misogynist for a little while. But actually, Potter's reputation was redeemed actually by death when he went on television actually 30 years ago next year and gave his final television interview.
