The Industrial Revolution Wasn't a Great Time to Be a Woman
Before the industrial revolution, women had enjoyed a similar kind of status to men when it came to work. Women were expected to stay at home and look after children, while the man went out and earned all the money for many people. The in strial revolution wasn't a great time to be a child or a woman. Working days were very long, with children often working 12 hour days in terrible conditions. Although you might have had a better chance of surviving past infanthood.
