Compilation Phases in JavaScript Engines

In earlier versions of JavaScript engines, it pretty much was that easy. And yeah, there was just always a lot of overhead when you called a function. Even and yeah, even now that algorithm is still going to be run at some point. But as a mental model, you can always imagine how this works and you'll get the mechanics of it right.
