The Importance of Backup Energy Sources for Critical Infrastructure Companies and DOD US Military Entities

The shut off of the straighter form moves would have an immediate effect on the price of oil. The Persian Gulf is still accounts for at least 20% of global oil supply at any given day. I think the US would move very quickly to reopen the strait and would be willing to use military power to do so. It sort of depends on how long the straights stays closed.
