The Origins of Django's Framework

Andrew Godwin: I was just saying before we recorded your talk at a DjangoCon Europe this year on async and future of Django. You did a really good job of breaking down going a level deeper level deeper on the layers of abstraction that is often assumed because people work at their own level. But given that you've jumped about a whole bunch of those levels professionally, it makes sense how you would be able to wrap it up together. So what's the origin? What's the DRF origin story? "I have no idea kind of where it came out of, but there’s this one big motivating factor"
