Wellington's Military Career
The Duke of York was a lieutenant colonel in the British army. He made his name as governor general of India during the third Anglo-Maratha War. His brother, Arthur Wellesley, is chosen to be commander for the British force. The Battle of Assai takes place on land between two rivers - named because there is a kind of tongue of fire.
