Is There a Diverse Ecosystem in Machine Learning?
Venture capitalists tend to back less uncertain technologies because thre's less risk about them. Industry tends to narrow the focus of research, even if it increases the volume of research that comes out. We need to think about the incentives that encourage a diverse ecosystem and to develop both within countries and across countries.
