Colonoscopy Screening for Colorectal Cancer
Colorectal cancer stands alone across all of oncology in terms of how precisely we can look for it. Colon cancer is unique compared to other cancers where we can actually detect it in these preneoplastic conditions. Surgery has been recommended to screen for colorectals since the mid-1990s. In 2000, only around 20% of adults over age 50 said they'd undergone colonoscopy. By 2020, that number was closer to 70%.
