Social Trinitarianism and Orthodox Theism
Many people have framed their understanding of social trinitarianism according to a supposed contrast between western and eastern trinitarian theologies. Closer examination, however, reveals that the picture is by no means so straightforward. One will find statements within the cappadocian fathers that clearly rule out the sort of social Trinitarianism that many appealing tothe will argue for. But one will also find affirmations that are supposed to lead to socialTrinitarianism in Western theologians who reject it wholeheartedly.
