Oil Companies Make More Per Gallon Than Exxon Mobile
I think some of what gives rise to this misconception is people hear the dollar figure. I had this conversation a couple of years ago with people who were complaining to me about oil companies and how much profit they made. It's even worse than that, because I remember writing a couple of articles around the time you were really digging into this. Government, the federal government and state governments make more per gallon of gas than Exxon does.
