The moon at the window, the thief left it behind. So what did he do? He wrote a haiku. The power of equanimity is to be impartial and not buffeted by gain and loss. Can we learn to respond to those cycles rather than be reactive? can we actually respond from a place of connected equanimity rather than from a reactive mind of annoyance or irritation? It doesn't mean that we should disengage,. but in this cycle of gain and loss, which happens in every arena of our lives, can we learn to responding to those cycles instead of being reactive?
