Without God there are no objective moral values, moral duties or moral accountability. The absence of moral accountability from the philosophy of atheism thus makes an ethic of compassion and self-sacrifice a hollow abstraction. These questions must be addressed if one is to maintain that God is not necessary to morality. We will now have ten minutes of questioning between Dr. Craig asking Dr. Kagan about his thoughts.
