The Air Force is repurposing RQ4 global hawks as airborne telemetry relay vehicles for hypersonic testing. This country invented hypersonic flight, in a sense. The X-15 was really the first and still is the first reusable hypersonic airplane. It gets back into that discussion on the engine that we had.
