The Importance of Grading Rubrics

Every grading rubric I ever wrote for a creative assignment felt at least partially, and sometimes substantially fraudulent to me. College students feel very empowered nowadays to challenge grades. The unspoken pressure to avoid grade challenges is unavoidable in any school. Being the professor doesn't mean I'm right. It just means that I have power.
