The Ramones 53rd and 3rd Review
Reed's nervously delivered lyrics paint a detailed, authentic and occasionally amusing portrait of the grim grime of Harlem in 1967. John Cale's Insistent Piano really captures the anticipatory jitters of an attic jonesing for his next fix. I would rather listen to the Ramones 53rd and 3rd any day if I was in the mood for a song about the Simi underbelly of New York but I guess if I wanted a song about a drug dealer with inexplicable sartorial taste I'd be happy with this.
