The Great Mystery of Antiquity

How would we know any of this if it truly is the great secret of antiquity well that's a good question. There are some texts very few which give you some indication of what went on in the ritual and I've referred to one already Plutarch fragment 178  in which he says that the soul on the point of death is like somebody being initiated into the great mysteries at first there's wandering around in fear sweat distress darkness and then there's a beautiful light. The initiates become initiated into become part of a idyllic scenario in which they're consulting with pure men and there are lovely sounds and appearances and so forth. It may be of course that they're in fact revealing
