Is God Having Reasons to Command That We Tell the Truth?
If God has reasons to issue commands, they aren't reasons to just command anything whatsoever. There's got to be something about those things, those actions that give him the reason. Now, I think that there may indeed be cases where coordination is, if not required, then beneficial in which case we may want a person to be the coordinator. But notice that now we're talking about putting a person in authority and telling that person that because we want coordination, we're going to give you the authority to command us. So when it comes to that example where we need coordination and we need a person to offer commands, I don't think that speaks in favor of meta-ethical divine command theory
