The Importance of Specialists in a Company

I could see a university like this attracting people who are flighty. I'd rather hire five physicists and five biologists to work on a nanotechnology problem than hiring 10 people with physics slash biology degrees. The all-rounded person is really valuable, but they're valuable because they're skilled at a bunch of stuff. Someone who just knows a little bit about a lot but doesn't have any particular skills in any field is not really useful.
