What Is a Ciborum?

In early christian architecture, when christians started being able to build their own church buildings, before the iconosas really existed, what you had was this ciborum. This is a canopy with a curtain that could be closed at certain points during the liturgy over the holy table. In orthodox churches around this feast looing, like a meneon, they talk about this idea of the eucharistic symbolism that's going on here. But then they also tie it back to another meeting of the lord in the temple, which is in isaiah chapter six. And and so there's even a little bit of a tendency now in the modern orthodox churches to reintroduce
