Land of Roses - How Did It Come About?
Land of Roses is the first film by Iraqi-born Canadian director Tarek Ayoob. It was shot in Gudistan, a mountainous region on the border with Iran and Syria. The filmmaker says he borrowed $11,000 from friends to make the film. "I never been an Iraq citizen in my life," said Ayoob about his experiences there.
