Macbeth Says to Know My Deed

The play is filled with famous lines and sentiments. We are watching one who may have been good become evil ostensibly against his will before our very eyes. Iago in Othello we'll see when we come to that tragic masterpiece that we delight in Iago's evil doing but I don't believe we sympathize with him much. Perhaps part of the reason why Macbeth is so much more darkly affecting is because we see too much of ourselves in Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
