The Psychology of Final Fantasy

Author talks about how the stories are structured really pulls you into developing relationships with the characters in these games. You get a parasocial relationship attachment to each character and that's really the heart of the story. So I'll talk a bit about how it has transnational insight, the little buzzword I use in the chapter, which gives the player insight into Japanese culture. These games, they integrate tenants of Bushido. They put women in positions of power. They do lots of things that you don't see necessarily in Western cultures like RPGs.
