The Rise and Fall of the Anona System in Carthage
Vandals broke back the Anona system that had brought most of Africa's oil and grain to Rome. This caused an economic explosion that brought even greater prosperity to Africa after around 450. The vandals were the ones picking the targets, but men like Ethalis crewing the ship would be doing the raiding.
